Key Clubs - Chippewa Valley & Dakota High Schools
Key Clubs are Kiwanis-sponsored service clubs for High School students. Individual Kiwanis clubs sponsor Key clubs at local High Schools, but the Key Club organization parallels the Kiwanis International structure.
Our club sponsors the Key Club at Chippewa Valley & Dakota High School, both located in Macomb Townnship. These great bunch of kids - young adults, really - join together to make a difference in the community, and to learn the importance of community service. As part of the program, Key Club members also learn leadership skills, and develop habits of personal responsibility that give them an edge in a competitive society.
Key Club members are often first Builders Club members in Junior High School, but since there are no Builders Clubs (a situation we hope to correct soon) these club's members join out of an honest desire to serve and learn, all while having fun with their peers. Not surprisingly, many of them are also active in sports and other school activities, and tend to be excellent academic performers, as well.
